PMK chief asks UPA to send MPs to Lanka to study situation
Chennai, Jun 12 (UNI) Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder leader S Ramadoss today urged the Congress-led UPA government to depute an all-party MPs delegation to Tamil areas in Sri Lanka to get first hand information on the prevailing situation.
Blaming the island for the break-down of peace talks, initiated by the Norwegian government, Dr Ramadoss said in a statement here that after this, armed forces had stepped up the attack on the Tamils.
''As nobody knows what is happening in Tamil areas now, the Indian government should depute a delegation of MPs drawn from all political parties on a fact finding mission,'' he said, adding, the delegation should also find out what remedial measures the Tamils were seeking.
