Malaysian Depuy PM calls on Azim Premji

Bangalore, June 12: Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Yang Amat Berhormat Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak, accompanied by a senior delegation, called upon IT major Wipro Chairman Azim Premji during his recent visit to India.

''This visit to Wipro campus provides the Malaysian delegation with the opportunity to view the company's IT services and practices. Wipro's journey to be leading IT services and independent R and D services provider to corporations globally is something we can emulate,'' a Wipro release here today quoted the Malaysian dignitary as saying.

The Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister was on a three-day visit to India and had visited the Wipro campus on June ten. The delegation discussed strategic business partnership opportunities and on leveraging IT experience of Wipro.

Receiving the high power delegation, Mr Premji said ''Wipro has a presence in Malaysia and this meeting strengthened our relationship further.'' Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajat Mathur, Chief Executive-Business Solutions and Head-International Operations of Wipro's ASEAN, Middle East and APAC business unit said ''We see tremendous synergy in the Malaysian market and aim to strengthen our partnerships in the years to come. Malaysian market places a premium on high value IT services as it is increasingly relied upon to drive business momentum.
