Left trade unions to hold protest rally
Patna, Jun 12 (UNI) Trade unions in Bihar affiliated to Left parties would join their comrades elsewhere in observing the countrywide 'protest day' against hike in petro product prices from a common platform tomorrow and organise a state level rally here.
For the first time since last year's assembly polls when unity among Left parties cracked, they found a common issue in the petro price hike to launch a common movement.
Leaders of AITUC (CPI), AICTU (CPI-ML), CITU (CPI-M), UTUC (RSP), TUCC (SUCI) and BKMU (FB) today announced that the activists of trade unions would organise a rally which would begin from Shahid Bhagat Singh Chowk against the price hike.
Tomorrow's rally would be followed by other forms of protests including demonstrations,dharna, road blockade,they said.
Various unions representing employees ofstate governments, Banks, insurance companies and workers in the unorganised sector would also particpate in the rally, the leaders claimed.
