JUA condemns ULFA for issuing threats to journalists

Guwahati, Jun 12 (UNI) The Journalists Union of Assam (JUA) today condemned the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) for its latest threat issued against four Guwahati-based journalists.

The Commander-in-Chief of the outfit, in an e-mail message on June 10 last threatened four journalists including D N Bezbarua (former editor of The Sentinel) and Prasanta Rajguru (Executive Editor of Amar Asom) for their efforts to expose the eroding support to the banned outfit.

Meanwhile, the JUA, an affiliate to Indian Journalists Union(IJU), has called a protest meeting on June 14 (Wednesday) to discuss the issue of threats to mediapersons and their future course of actions. UNI XC KK SS1401
