IUML meet in August

Tiruchirapalli, Jun 12 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu unit of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) will be organising a state-level conference of office bearers of the Jamaaths at Chennai in August, IUML State President K M Khader Mohideen, MP, has said.

Speaking to presspersons here last night, Prof Mohideen said the conference will discuss among other things reviving the Shariat Panchayat System and schemes for the welfare and progress of the Muslim community.

Over 10,000 Jamaaths were expected to attend the conference which also aimed at creating awareness among the Muslims on education and social issues.

Tamil Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had been invited to participate in the conference as the chief guest, he said.
