Industrial output up 9.5 pc in April

New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Strong manufacturing, electricity and mining output data have resulted in rise in the country's industrial output in April 2006 to 9.5 per cent over April 2005, with manufacturing sector showing a 10.4 per cent growth, official figures released here today show.

Industrial output for March was revised up to 8.2 per cent from the provisional figure of 7.7 per cent.

Manufacturing growth rose by 10.4 per cent in April, up from 8.9 per cent recorded in March 2006, according to the figures released by Central Statistical Organisation.

Capital goods output was up 24.9 per cent in April, while output of consumer goods rose 8.7 per cent.
