Gujarat committed that Narmada water reaches Rajasthan: Govt
Gandhinagar, June 12 (UNI) Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd has awarded the work on a 101-km-long canal network to 10 contractors to provide Narmada water to Rajasthan, a government statement here today said.
Ten 'A' category contractors have been directed to complete the work which involves the longest siphon over river Banas and REL, it said.
''There are many road and railway crossings which involved permission from the Centre. It also involves additional land acquisition,'' it added.
The government claimed it has made all efforts to complete the project expeditiously despite many obstacles.
