District Magistrate survives attack on life in Bihar

Khagaria(Bihar), Jun 12 : District Magistrate of Khagaria Mayank Barbade escaped unhurt in an attack by criminals near Karua village under Chautham police station in the district late last night.

Police said here today that anti-socials opened fire on the official car of the district magistrate when the officer was returning to the district headquarters from Choutham after completing probe into certain complaints on irregularities during counting of votes in panchayats.

The vehicle was damaged but the officer was unhurt, police added.

The criminals managed to escape under the cover of darkness and efforts were on to nab them.
