New Delhi, June 12: Warning the ruling Congress in the Municipal corporation of Delhi of 'terrible consequences' if they tried to postpone the MCD elections on the pretext of delimitation or division, the Delhi BJP today demanded that fresh elections be held by dissolving the "corrupt" MCD which they said had "lost its utility." In a resolution passed here, the Delhi Pradesh BJP said, ''fresh elections should be held by dissolving the corrupt MCD which has lost its utility so that the people of Delhi may be able to get a public service-minded, accountable and corruption-free Corporation.'' The resolution, passed in the meeting of the Pradesh Working Committee under the Chairmanship of Delhi BJP President Harsh Vardhan, said, ''the Congress knows that they are going to be defeated in the next MCD elections. This is the reason why it is conspiring to postpone the elections on the pretext of committees.

About half a dozen committees have already submitted their reports on the issues of the division of the MCD and improving its efficiency.

Throwing these reports in the dustbins the Congress now wants to postpone the MCD elections on the pretext of Omesh Saigal committee, they alleged.

The Working Committee has warned the Congress Government that if they will try to postpone the MCD elections on the pretext of delimitation or division then it will have to face terrible consequences.

''The BJP will not tolerate any attempt to postpone the elections,'' it said.
