Congress demands action against guilty officials
Patna, Jun 12 (UNI) The Bihar Congress today demanded stern action against some administrative officers of Madhubani district for their 'highhandedness' against the party leaders during Panchayat elections yesterday.
Party's Chief spokesman Prem Chandra Mishra told UNI here that the district party president Chandrant Jha and a district board member Satishchandra Mishra were assaulted by the officials at Madhwapur and Rahika blocks respectively. He alleged that block development officers of the concerned blocks instigated the policemen to assault their leaders, who were on line to cast votes.
Mr Mishra claimed both the leaders were carrying their photo identitity cards. But despite that local administration tried to prevent them from exercising their voting rights. He said the chief election commissioner had been informed about the incident.
