Complaint against folk singer in car parking row

Rajkot, June 12 (UNI) A police complaint has been registered against folk singer Farida Mir after she allegedly slapped a traffic constable here over a car parking row.

Mir, her mother Hasinaben and a relative had gone to the Jubilee vegetable market yesterday where traffic constable Sahdevsinh Rana asked them to park the vehicle properly saying it was obstructing normal traffic.

Ignoring the constable's request, the relative who was driving the vehicle informed Hasinaben who got into an argument with Rana.

Angered over the incident, Mir allegedly slapped Rana, police sources said.

The constable has registered a complaint against Mir for beating him, abusing him and obstructing duty, sources added.

On the other hand, Hasinaben alleged that the constable beat her up with a stick and has filed a complaint with the 'A' division police station.

Hasinaben has been admitted to the civil hospital and police are investigating the matter.
