'Charas' estimated at Rs 1.5 crore seized, 2 arrested

Maharajganj, June 12 (UNI) Customs officials here today seized 500 kgs 'charas' estimated at Rs 1.5 crore being smuggled from Nepal on a truck.

Truck driver Zulfiqar and cleaner Rajesh had been arrested and were being questioned.

Senior Customs Superintendent Y K Gupta said the haul was made in Sonauli town on the Indo-Nepal border in the district.

The narcotic substance was recovered on routine checking of vehicles, he added.

Investigations were on.
