Barnala gets fresh term as Tamil Nadu Governor
New Delhi, June 12 (UNI) Mr Surjit Singh Barnala has been appointed Governor of Tamil Nadu for a fresh term of five years.
Mr Barnala has completed his five year term as Governor of Tamil Nadu and a Rashtrapati Bhavan press communique said President A P J Abdul Kalam made the appointment for another five years.
The President also appointed Mr Shivinder Singh Sidhu, Governor of Manipur, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Meghalaya in addition to his own duties, during the absence on leave of Mr M M Jacob, with effect from June 15.
