AK47 bullets in software engineer's laptop

Chennai, June 12 : Security personnel at the Anna International Airport detained a New York-bound software engineer for possessing two live bullets, hidden in his laptop, in the wee hours of today.

Police said Srinivasan (48), son of Retired District Judge Muthiah, had come to the airport to catch the Frankfurt-bound Lufthansa flight at around 0150 hrs.

When his baggage was screened, the security personnel heard noise when the laptop passed through the scanner.

An examination revealed the presence of two live bullets meant for AK47 rifles.

On being questioned, Srinivasan denied having any knowledge of the bullets in his laptop following which he was detained and later handed over to the local police for further investigation.
