Air Chief Tyagi launches MiG-27 Part Task Trainer
Shillong, Jun 12 (UNI) Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall SP Tyagi today launched the MiG-27 Part Task Trainer at Hasimara Air Force station in West Bengal.
Designed and developed indigenously by Macmet Technologies Ltd, Bangalore, this trainer for a highly complex fighter aircraft, included familiarisation of all cockpit checks and procedures, handling of emergency procedures, use and operation of avionics equipment and weapon systems.
According to a communique, all instruments in the cockpit have been stimuated, using the state-of-the-art synthetic display technology to achieve real life-like displays.
The stimuator cover offers a 160 Degree horizontal X 45 Degree vertical field of view with a seamless projected display. The MiG-27 stimulator also has a very versatile and interactive instructor station with facilities for configuring various exercises, controlling the training session and monitoring and evaluating pilot's performance.
The Air Chief also visited Air Force station Digaru on the same day and inspected the various operational and functional areas of the station.
