SW monsoon active in North-East

Pune, June 11 (UNI) Southwest monsoon has been active in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in northwest Rajasthan and in some parts of Haryana.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh and they were appreciably above normal in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and in remaining parts of Haryana and were above normal in some parts of east Rajasthan, west Madhay Pradesh and of north Chattisgarh.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub- Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in south Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, Andman and Nicobar and at few places in Gangetic West Bengal, north Konkan, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Very heavy rains have occured at most places in Assam and Meghalaya.

Very light rain have occured at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occured at many places in coastal Karnataka and Andman and Nicobar Islands and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Telangana and at isolated places in east Madhya Pradesh and south interior Karnataka.
