Scissors removed from stomach after 14 months
Kozhikode, June 11: Doctors at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital here today removed a five-and-a-half inch long scissors from a 65-year-old patient's stomach.
After an X-ray, doctors removed the scissors from Akkooppoyil Achuthan's (65) stomach following an emergency surgery, hospital sources said.
The patient's relatives said a six-kg tumour was removed from his stomach in an operation at the hospital on April 2, 2005.
The doctor who performed the operation might have inadvertently forgotten to remove the scissors after the procedure, they said.
Achuthan had been frequenting the hospital due to acute pain since then, the relatives added.
