Cut on sales tax on fuel ruled out
Bhubaneswar, Jun 11: Orissa Finance Minister Prafulla Ghadei today ruled out any possibility of reducing the sales tax on petrol and diesel as announced by some congress ruled states in the country.
Mr Ghadei said the state government had no such plan to reduce the sales tax to lower the prices of the petrol and diesel.
He said the Cabinet had on the other hand imposed a 12 per cent tax on the Petroleum products coming to Orissa from other states.
The Finance Minister said at present the state government was charging 20 per cent sales tax on the petrol and diesel, comparatively less then many other states.
