No increase in fertiliser price: Paswan
Guna, MP, June 11 (UNI) Union Chemical and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today assured that there was no scarcity of fertilisers in the country and its price would not be increased.
Mr Paswan told reporters at the airport today that the price of fertilisers in the country would not increase despite rise in international prices.
The Centre had controlled the price by providing subsidy on fertilisers.
He said if there was a scarcity of fertilisers in a particular state, it could be due to lacunae in the distribution mechanism.
A committee had been formed at the level of joint secretary to look into the reason for inadequate supply of fertiliser to farmers in any state.
Describing rise in petroleum products' prices as appropriate, he said the BJP, which had linked the price of petroleum products to price in the international market, had no right to criticise the increase.
