Man stabs to death step-mother

Dharwad, June 11 (UNI) A man has allegedly done to death his step-mother and inflicted stab injuries on his half-brother here over a property dispute.

Police today said Hanumanth, the son of late Yallappa Chalavadi, who had been a sweeper in the police department, had yesterday engaged into a quarrel with Gyanavva (65) and her son Mahantesh over the issue and stabbed them in a fit of rage.

While Gyanavva died on the spot, Mantesh was shifted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences at Hubli.

A search was on to nab Hanumanth, police added.
