Man attacked by leopard

Hubli, Karnataka, June 11 (UNI) A man was seriously injured when a leopard attacked him on Shiggaon-Mallanayakan kop road in Shiggaon taluk of Haveri district around midnight last night.

Police said Balappa Tavari, driver of a passenger van, had got down from the vehicle near the village to answer nature's call when the feline mauled him. It had escaped under the cover of darkness when the occupants of the van raised an alarm and switch on its headlights.

Tavari was admitted to government hospital at Bankapur, police added.
