Koirala extends cabinet

Kathmandu, June 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala expanded the cabinet today .

The new cabinet will have an additional deputy Prime Minister and two other ministers. Chairman of Jana Morcha Nepal, Amik Serchan has been assigned with the deputy prime minister and Health minister's portfolios, while Hridayesh Tripathi of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi) has been appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies. Gyanendra Bahadur Karki of NC-D has been appointed as the State Minister for Water Resources.

The new cabinet has included all representatives from Seven Political parties except the Nepal Majdoor Kisan party which opted to stay outside the cabinet.

Meanwhile Home Minister Krishna Situla had met Maoists Supremo Prachanda at a remote village in Western Nepal, a local radio said.

Home Minister had also met Prachand.
