INS Finance Chief held

Imphal, Jun 11 (UNI) The deputy chief of Islamic National Front (INS) was arrested by the Imphal west police last evening, Superintendent of Police Clay Khongsai today said.

The man, identified as Muhammad Tamirjur, was overpowered by the police before fleeing. He is the finance chief of the INS.

In a separate incident, troops of 22 Maratha Light Infantry seized eight tonne of timber at Nambol, Bishnupur district, the Assam Rifles sources said.
