Ganguly scores 32, takes three wickets

Kolkata, Jun 11 (UNI) Sourav Ganguly returned with his willow after 60 days to score a scratchy 32 in the semi-final of P Sen Memorial Cup for East Bengal and then scalp three wickets to see his team move into the final beating Shayambazar by 21 runs.

East Bengal batted first and scored 223 for nine in 46 overs.

While Amitava Chakraborty top scored for the side with a fine 63, Ganguly scored a probing 32 off 47 balls with four boundaries.

In reply Shyambazar were bowled out for 202 in 45.1 overs. P S Bhattacharya scored 57 for them, but it Ganguly who stole the limelight taking three wickets.

His figures read 8.1 overs 2 maidens 33 runs and 3 wickets.

He is likely to play in the final of the cup, before being Northamptonshire bound for a stint with the county side.
