Bomb scare on Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani
New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) A bomb scare today occurred on the Hazrat Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express.
The Railway Police carried out a search of the Rajdhani after the station master of the New Delhi Railway station received an anonymous letter claiming that bombs had been placed on the train.
As soon as the authorities received the letter, they intimated the Railway protection force personnel who then carried out an extensive search of the Thiruvananthapuram-bound train at the Nizamuddin railway station, a Northern Railway official said.
The anonymous letter had claimed the train would be blown up, the official said.
No explosive material was found on board the train in the search, carried out with the help of bomb squads and sniffer dogs, the official said.
The train subsequently left the station at its scheduled time at 1100 hours, he said.
