BJP never offered any party post to Rahul: Rajnath

New Delhi, June 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today firmly denied reports that it had offered any post to Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul in the organisation.

''The party never took any decision to induct Rahul in the party set up,'' BJP president Rajnath Singh told NDTV here today.

It is true that Rahul had come and met BJP leaders here during the party executive meeting, but he had not come to participate in the meet, he said.

''Rahul had expressed his desire to thank party leaders for their condolence and expression of sympathy with his family on his father's death and so he wanted to come during the lunch hour, a request which there was no reason to turn down,'' said the BJP chief.

However, during his interaction with the leaders, no offer of any party post was made to him.

Mr Singh said he would not like to say anything further regarding Rahul as the police probe in the case was on.

Replying to a question, he came out in support of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's opposition to the screening of Aamir Khan's film 'Fanaa', saying the Chief Minister's stand was right as law and order was the responsibility of his government.

If the government thinks that any event is likely to disturb peace in the state, it is right in not letting that happen, Mr Singh said, adding that sentiments against Aamir Khan, because of his support to the Narmada Bachao Andolan, were running high in the state and screening of the film could invite people's anger.
