BC Assn threatens stir on fee hike
Hyderabad, Jun 11 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh State Backward Classes Welfare Association today threatened to stop counselling for engineering seats if the state government went ahead with its decision to increase the fee for the courses.
In a statement here, Association President R Krishina said the move will result in denying professional education to middle class and poor students who may not be able to shoulder the burden.
He urged the Chief Minister to withdraw the decision to increase fees for engineering courses from Rs 24,000 to Rs 27,000.
The Association would decide the future course of action and chalk out agitational programmes if the fee hike was implemented.
