Students out on streets against security force

Baramulla, June 10 : Hundreds of students of degree college Kupwara today took to streets today to protest against the sacrilege of a mosque allegedly by security forces.

The demonstrators, raising slogans against the security forces, alleged they had entered a mosque at Zirhama, about 10 km from Kupwara, without removing their shoes.

They further alleged that the security personnel beat up the priest and showed disrespect to holy books in the mosque.

The demonstrators also damaged wind screens of some vehicles and forced closure of shops in the town. Traffic was also disrupted for some time before the police intervened and brought the situation under control.

The students, who were later joined by other civilions were demanding action against the securit forces involved in the sacrilege of the mosque.
