SJVN hosts TT Championship in Shimla

Shimla, Jun 10 (UNI) Nine teams are participating in the ninth Inter Central Power Sector PSUs Table Tennis Tournament being held here from June 13 to 16, an official spokesman said today.

The Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL) is hosting the sports meet, which has been organised under the aegis of Power Sports Control Board, he said.

Teams of Powergrid Corporation of India (PGCIL), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC), Power Finance Corporation (PFC), National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC), Ministry of Power (MOP), Bhakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and SJVNL were participating in the tournament.

There are fourteen constituent members of the Power Sports Control Board from all the Central Power Sector organisations and these members are allotted one sport each year, the spokesman said.

He said SJVNL has already hosted Chess, Badminton, Bridge and Kabaddi championships in the past.

SJVNL's Chairman cum managing director HK Sharma would formally inaugurate the tournament on June 13, he added.
