Ruling SP leader succumbs to bullet wounds

Lucknow, June 10 (UNI) A ruling Samajwadi Party leader today died of bullet wounds, sustained in an attack yesteday in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said Babita Yadav died this afternoon at the premier King George's Medical University (KGMU) during treatment.

Ms Yadav was the former SP district unit president of Lakhimpur.

She was wounded at her Gurmandi residence in Kotwali area last night, when unidentified miscreants attacked the leader.

Investigations are on.
