Panaji, Jun 10 (UNI) It all started with dark clouds threatening to burst but ended in a drizzle as crowds thronged the famous Miramar Beach in the capital city to participate in the ''Anandiotsav -maha satsahg'' programme by the founder of the Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar here this evening.

As the blissful singing and bhajans invoking Lord Ganesh and others began, the drizzle waned and the clouds drifted away when the spiritual leader ravi Shankar arrived one hour late than the scheduled time.

Women, men and children milled the sprawling sand dunes of the serene beach to listen to Ravi Shakar's discourse with rapt attention and his answers to tricky questions posed by the audience.

He supported the move of the then Vajpayee government to make India a nuclear power, saying ''you know every god has his or her weapons. I do not understand why our communist brothers raised a hue and cry on the issue.'' Asked how to identify a real Guru, he said,''first understand yourself and then you will find the Guru easily.'' God, in his view, is none other than the ''generator, operator and destroyer and so try to find Him.'' To another question, he said, that value based politics was required not only in Goa but in all other states for the betterment of the society.

He also told the people that meditation would drive away all life-style disorders including the hyper tension and diabetis.

Earlier in the day, the spiritual leader inaugurated Sri Sri Institute of Management Studies at Borda-Margao.
