National Manipuri Convention at Imphal

Imphal, Jun 10 (UNI) A five-day-long national Manipuri Convention will begin on June 21 at Imphal, organised by the students organisations of Manipur.

The All Manipur Students' Union and Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) said various issues ranging from human rights, economy, culture, identity would be discussed and experts would be presenting papers.

A large number of Manipuris were settled in Bangladesh and Myanmar and they were facing various problems.

Delegates from other parts of the country were expected to attend the convention. The main focus of the convention would be on protection of cultural issues and human rights, the organisers said.
