JVD predict mid-term poll in Jharkhand
Ranchi, June 10 (UNI) Jharkhand Vikas Dal (JVD) today claimed that the Babulal Marandi episode had jolted the Arjun Munda government in the state and will lead to fall of the government and mid-term polls.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi left the BJP levelling corruption charges against the NDA government in Jharkhand.
JVD chief general secretary Maheshwar Sahu, in a statement here, said the resignation of Mr Marandi had set a storm in the Jharkhand politics. ''All the parties, including ruling BJP and opposition JMM, Congress and RJD, are coming within the periphery of this storm. The Munda government can fall any time. The state is moving towards mid-term poll,'' he said.
Supporting Mr Marandi's call for constitution of regional party for development of Jharkhand, Mr Sahu said the former Jharkhand Autonomous Council vice-chairman and JVD president Suraj Mandal was expressing similar view even before Mr Marandi.
Mr Sahu said the JVD has called a meeting to discuss the issue at its state headquarters here on June 15.
Mr Marandi, who resigned from the Lok Sabha membership along with the BJP last month, has launched a campaign under the banner of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, a non-political organisation, to dislodge the Munda government. He has said he would launch a political party at an appropriate time.
