Dr Isaac Mar Cleemis installed as Thiruvalla Archbishop

Pathanamthitta, June 10 (UNI) Dr Issac Mar Cleemis was installed as the first Archbishop of the newly-formed Thiruvalla Archdiocese of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church at a solemn ceremony held at the St John's Cathedral in Thiruvalla today.

Major Archbishop Mar Cyril Baselios led the ceremony.

A holy mass was conducted with Bishop Geevarghese Mar Themothios as the chief celebrant with Bishops Yuhanon Mar Chrisostem, Thomas Mar Coorilos, Joshua Mar Ignatios, Geevarghese Mar Deevannasios and Joseph Mar Thomas assisting him.

The 'letter of authority' issued by the Major Archbishop upgrading the Thiruvalla diocese into an Archdiocese was read out by Archdiocese Chancellor Chacko Narimattom.

Another letter elevating Mar Cleemis as Archbishop was read out by Chancellor of Thiruvananthapuram Major Archdiocese Antony Valiyavila.

The felicitation by the Patriarch of Antioc Ignatios Moosa Daveed was read out by Dr Joshua Mar Ignatios.

Archbishops Soosai Pakyam, Daniel Acharu Parampil and Mar Mathew Moolakkattu, Dr Pheelipose Mar Chrisostem Mar Thoma Metropolitan, Dr Sakharias Mar Theophilose Suffragan Metroplitan, Bishops Stanley Roman and Sam Mathew and Dr Yuhanon Mar Chrisostamose Metropolitan, among others, took part in the installation ceremony.
