DMK Finalises List for first phase

Pondicherry,Jun 10(UNI) The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) had finalised the party's candidate lists to contest the first phase of local body elections in the union territory.

According to party sources, the party will be fighting for the post of the chairman of Karaikal municipality and one Bhuvaneswari has been identified as the candidate.

The party will also be fighting nine out of the 18 municipal councillors and 10 out of the 27 commune Panchayat Councillors post.

Karaikal,Mahe and Yanam municipalities and five commune panchayats goes to polls in the first phase on 24th June to whch the filing of nominatins came to a close at 1500 hours today.
