CRPF men hurt in grenade attack

Sibsagar, June 10 (UNI) At least three jawans were injured in a blast in a CRPF camp at Rangghar Chariali near here at about 1630 hours today.

According to reports, a grenade was hurled at the CRPF camp by suspected ULFA militants.

The injured have been shifted to the Sibsagar Civil Hospital.

However, the CRPF is yet to confirm the blast. It has stated that the explosion was due to a tyre blast.

Meanwhile, another blast in the main town has been reported.

Police said the blast in Sibsagar town occurred near the Deputy Commissioner's residence on banks of the historic Borpukhuri at about 1855 hours.

The explosive was suspected to be placed in a bag on a bicycle.

However, no person was injured in the blast.

More details were awaited.
