Hyderabad, Jun 10 (UNI) Condemning the stepped up extremist violence in Jammu and Kashmir, including the massacre of 30 people in the Doda region, the CPI(M) Central Committee today asked the Centre to have a twin-track dialogue in the trouble-torn state.

Expressing concern over increase in the activities of the extremists who were targetting tourists visiting the valley, the Central Committee urged the Centre and the State administrations to take effective steps to check terrorist violence while pursuing the politial process.

''It is necessary to conduct a dialgoue on two tracks- one with the separatist organizations and the other with the political parties which are willing to work within the framework of the Indian Union'', the Central Committee, which concluded its three-day meet here today felt.

Briefing newsmen on the deliberations, Party General Secretary Prakash Karat said talks should revolve around a creative solution which could be based on the concept of providing maximum autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir and taking into account the aspirations of the people of different regions for their own autonomous structures.

The victory of the Left Front for the seventh successive term with three-fourth majority in West Bengal and with two-thirds majority in Kerala had strengthened the hands of the Left parties.

It showed that the people of these states had approved the Left parties approach towards the UPA at the Centre which they were supporting to keep the communal forces at bay and people of other states would also hold such a view, he added.
