Patna, June 10 (UNI) Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee has convened a meeting on June 17 for chalking out an agitational programme against the Nitish Kumar government's 'indifferent' attitude to the cause of common people and the government's failures on all fronts.

State party chief spokesperson Prem Chandra Mishra told mediapersons here today the meeting would be chaired by state party president Sadanand Singh while office bearers of the state Congress and all district party presidents would participate in the meeting.

All India Congress Committee secretary and party in-charge of Bihar Parvej Hashmi and Congress legislative party leader Dr Ashok Kumar would also attend the meeting.

Mr Mishra said the implementation of National Employment Guarantee Programme (NEGP) in 12 districts of the state was a 'non-starter'.

He said his party would not remain a mute spectator as various centrally sponsored programmes like rural electrification and women empowerment were not implemented due to political considerations.

He alleged that the Right to Information Act was not implemented properly.

The government was creating a false impression that it had launched several developmental programmes but the fact remained that a majority of them were centrally sponsored schemes.
