Centre's intervention sought to curb corruption in Bihar Univ
New Delhi, June 10 (UNI) Bihar Pradesh Janata Dal(S) today sought the Centre's intervention to check the ''education mafia'' in Bihar and order a CBI probe into corruption in the Lalit Narayan Mithila University.
JD(S) state president Shravan Chowdhary and other leaders submitted a memorandum to the Home Ministry and the UGC urging them to take steps to improve the standard of education in Bihar.
They said in a statement here that the standard of education was going down in Bihar universities and colleges. The situation is serious in Mithila University due to corruption and the education mafia. Many of its colleges have more than the sanctioned strength of teachers and staff, putting an economic burden on them for the past three decades.
