A militant killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 10 (UNI) A militant was killed by security forces while an ultra beat up and injured one person in the Kashmir valley overnight, official spokesman said.

He said security forces gunned down a militant in an encounter at Haran Chogal in the frontier district of Kupwara last night. The encounter ensued after a search party was attacked by the militants, they said adding one Ak rifle, four magazines, two hand grenades and 42 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.

He said militants kidnapped and later tortured one Mohammad Yousuf Lone at Sogam last night. However, he managed to escape from the captivity of the militants and was admitted to hospital.
