Woman, daughter attacked by elephants

Madikeri, Karnataka, June 9 : A woman and her daughter, attacked by a herd of elephants in the forest area at Kalkur in South Kodagu on June six, were admitted to the Madikeri hospital, yesterday.

Police said Boji (40) and her daughter Sangitha (11) were attacked by the pachyderms when they were on their way to a nearby shop. The duo escaped from imminent death as the herd showed no inclination to chase them.

Boji sustained fracture as an elephant kicked at her. Their condition was stated to be out of danger.
