Widow daughter-in-law arrested for old couple's killing

Kapurthala, June 9 (UNI) With the arrest of three people, the police here today claimed to have solved the mystery behind the cold blooded murder of a retired BSF Deputy Commandent Mohinder Singh and his wife Daljit Kaur.

SSP Rajiv Ahir told reporters here the three arrested accused in the double murder case were the widow daughter-in-law of the deceased old couple, her paramour Ajay Kumar and their accomplice Rajinder Singh.

The old couple was found dead at their premises yesterday.

He disclosed that a special investigation team headed by DSP Amrik Singh Powar had successfully investigated the case while working on various theories.

It was revealed during the investigations that Gurjit Kaur had entered into a contract killing with her two accomplices Ajay Kumar and Rajinder Singh. She had promised to pay Rs four lakh to both the men murdering her in-laws.

The SSP said that Gurjit Kaur had strained relations with her in-laws after the death of her husband three years back and wanted to get rid of the old couple.
