Soldier dead, another injured in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 9 (UNI) A security forces jawan was killed and another injured in a militant attack at Bandipora in north Kashmir today, official sources said.

They said militants attacked a security force patrol party at Bandipora woods in Baramulla district today. Security forces retaliated and one jawan was killed in the ensuing shootout and another wounded.

Later reinforcement was rushed from nearby camps and the entire area was cordoned off, sources said, adding the search operations were going on when the reports last came in.
