Smuggled PDS kerosene seized

Bijapur, Karnataka, June 9 (UNI) The Maharashtra police have seized Rs two lakh worth kerosene, meant to be supplied under the Public Distribution System, being transported illegally in a tanker from Karnataka, near Takali on the State border.

Police sources said the kerosene, allotted to Navapur village in this district, was smuggled to the neighbouring State, last evening.

The tanker was seized. However, the driver managed to escape.
