Sindhu Darshan begins on June 12

New Dehi, June 9 (UNI) The three-day Sindhu Darshan - Ladakh Singhey-Khababs Spring Festival -will begin at Leh on Monday.

The inaugural ceremony, to be attended by Union Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni and Jammu and Kashmir Chief MInister Ghulam Nabi Azad, will be held at the Sindhu Ghat.

The festival to be held till June 14, will begin with the hoisting of the tricolour, followed by an all religion prayer at the Sindhu Ghat of Leh. It attempts to showcase the cultural richness of the Ladakh region, in particular, and that of the Jammu and Kashmir, in general.

It will have performances by noted exponents of various dance and music traditions of the region like Lbarnna, Char-Tses, Chabskyan dance, Lion Dance, Kashmiri Dance, Shondol, Talwar Dance and Tashispa.

While the inaugural performance will be held at the Sindhu Ghat, the subsequent performaces will be organised at the local Polo Ground, every day during the festival.
