Sarkar dies after eight months in coma
Kolkata, Jun 9 (UNI) Noted mountaineer Anita Sarkar, died at a Railway Hospital this morning after being in coma for eight months.
She was a spinster and left behind her mother and elder brother.
She shot to fame when she climbed the Abi Gabin nearly 23000 feet. She was also a part of an expedition to Mt Blanc in Switzerland.
She had also led an expedition to Sikkim Himalaya's Trathong.
Imbibed with an adventerous spirit and a close friend of Bachendri Pal the duo had rode two wheelers to Kargil and done kayaking from Haridwar to Babughat.
She had also done Trans-Himalayan Trekking.
