Rupee closes two paise up at Rs 45.95/97/USD

Mumbai, June 9 (UNI) The rupee today closed strong by two paise at Rs 45.95/97 US dollar as compared to the previous close of 45.97/99 USD.

The Indian currency today opened at Rs 45.95/97 US dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at Rs 46.04 USD.

The six-month forward premia was high at 0.97 per cent and the one year premia was also high at 1.12 per cent.

RBI fixed the reference rate at Rs 45.92 USD today.

Rupee also fared well against other currencies: Rupee vs Euro was up at Rs 58.02(58.35), Rupee vs Pound Sterling was up at Rs 84.46(84.57) and against yen was down at Rs 40.20(40.15).
