Property attachment warrant against ophthalmologist

Patna, Jun 09 (UNI) Special vigilance judge of Patna Ram Niwas Prasad today issued attachment of property warrant against two accused including former head of the eye department in the local Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) Dr Mahesh Chandra.

The case was related to irregularities committed in purchase of Eximer laser machine for eye department of IGIMS during the period between 1996 to 2004.

Dr Chandra was currently posted as an additional professor in Dr Rajendra Prasad Centre for Opthamatic Sciences in All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

The designated judge also issued property attachment warrant against Neelmohan, the agent of the company who had supplied the machine.

Both the accused were evading arrest in the case.
