PM's Arunachal visit postponed

Itanagar, June 9 (UNI) The two-day visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Arunachal Pradesh from June 13 has been postponed due to 'unavoidable reasons'.

The Prime Minister has expressed deep regret over the postponement of the proposed visit and conveyed his keenness to visit the state soon during a meeting with Congress Working Committee (CWC) member O M Deori at the national capital yesterday, official sources said here today.

Ms Deori had called on the Prime Minister to apprise him about the enthusiasm of the tribal people and their massive preparation for his visit to the state.

In a signed statement, Ms Deori said the Prime Minister was happy to learn that the people of Arunachal Pradesh, particularly the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Gegong Apang, have been striving hard for the overall development of the state.
