MP Govt's aid for bus accident victims

Bhopal, June 9 : The Madhya Pradesh government has announced financial assistance for the victims of the bus accident involving pilgrims from the state during their visit to Kedarnath early this week.

The government announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 50,000 each to next of kin of the dead and Rs 10,000 each to the injured, official sources said today.

Four people were killed and seven seriously injured when the bus carrying pilgrims from Shajapur and Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh met with an accident while returning from Kedarnath.

The government also extended cooperation to the bereaved families in bringing the bodies and to look after the injured.

Inspector General of Police Rajiv Garg posted at New Delhi has been sent to Kedarnath to make necessary arrangements.
